Al Nassr attacker Cristiano Ronaldo has agreed to a new contract extension with the club only days after turning 40.

Ronaldo joined the Saudi Pro League club in January 2023 on a two-and-a-half-year contract.

That initial agreement would have seen his contract expire at the end of the 2024/25 season.

However, an Al-Nassr official informed the AFP that the Portugal captain agreed to extend his stay for another year.

The new deal will run until June 2026.

The official said: “The sides have agreed on the renewable extension of Ronaldo’s contract, but it has not been signed yet.

“An announcement will be made over the coming days.”

The news comes less than a week after Ronaldo turned 40.

The ex-Manchester United forward marked his milestone birthday with a goal against Al Feiha as Al-Nassr won the clash 3-0.
