Cristiano Ronaldo is 19 goals away from reaching 1,000 career goals after scoring for Al Nassr against Uzbekistan’s Neftchi Fergana in the 2026–27 AFC Champions League Elite.
The Portuguese forward scored Al Nassr’s second goal in the Matchday 2 encounter, taking his career tally to 981 and raising the possibility of him reaching the landmark before the end of 2026.
However, Ronaldo faces a demanding schedule if he is to achieve the feat before the new year.
Al Nassr have 15 matches remaining on their schedule in 2026, while Portugal are expected to play twice in November, giving him a potential 17 opportunities to add to his tally.
To reach 1,000 goals in those matches, Ronaldo would need to score 19 times in 17 appearances. That would require him to maintain an exceptional scoring rate, although his actual opportunities will depend on his fitness, selection and playing time.
His record from last season suggests the challenge will be difficult. Ronaldo averaged 0.82 goals per match during the 2025–26 campaign, below the rate required to reach the target within the remaining fixtures.
Nevertheless, the 41-year-old could still reach the milestone during the first half of 2027 if he falls short before the end of this year.
For now, Ronaldo’s immediate task is to keep scoring for Al Nassr and Portugal as he closes in on one of the most significant milestones of his career.
