Cristiano Ronaldo has predicted that his eldest son, Cristiano Jr., could eventually surpass him, revealing that the teenager is already stronger than he was at the same age.
The Portugal captain made the remark in a video shared by Netflix Sports on Thursday while watching Cristiano Jr. train with the Al Nassr youth team.
Speaking about his 16-year-old son, Ronaldo said, “He’s a good kid. The other ones are tougher, the ones at home, the small ones. This one is no problem.
“When I was his age, he is a little bit bigger and stronger. I was smaller. I think he will be bigger than me.”
Ronaldo, however, stressed that physical attributes alone would not determine his son’s success in football.

When another person in the video wondered whether Cristiano Jr. would have the same drive as his father, Ronaldo replied: “Hunger is the most difficult.”
Cristiano Jr., born on June 17, 2010, is Ronaldo’s eldest child and currently plays for the Al Nassr youth team. The identity of his mother has not been publicly disclosed.
The 41-year-old remains one of football’s most decorated players, having won 36 major team trophies with Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, Al Nassr and Portugal. His honours include five UEFA Champions League titles, five Ballon d’Or awards, UEFA Euro 2016, two UEFA Nations League titles and multiple league championships across England, Spain, Italy and Saudi Arabia.
He is also the all-time leading scorer in men’s international football.
