The Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi, has been nominated for conferment of the Grand Service Star of Rivers State (GSSRS).
Saturday Sun gathered that a letter of the nomination was conveyed to the Governor of Ebonyi State in the hands and seals of the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike.
The letter, according to a statement by Orji Uchenna Orji, Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Ebonyi State, was dated October 24, 2022.
Orji noted that the Governor Umahi’s distinguished award from the Government of Rivers State, was in recognition of “his exemplary life achievements, outstanding contributions to the advancement of national cohesion, equity and justice and his invaluable leadership dispositions to the Government and people of Rivers State.”
The commissioner said that the governor of Rivers State, who acted pursuant to his powers under the Rivers State Honours Law, 2017, approved the conferment of the Star Honours to be accordingly conferred to the Ebonyi State governor on a date to be communicated in due course.
Orji expressed gratitude to God for the honour the Ebonyi State governor has received from Rivers government, which is showcasing Umahi to the world.
