Rivers primaries: APC produces I3 candidates for House of Reps

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Federal House of Representatives Primary Elections held on Saturday in Port Harcourt has produced 13 candidates that would fly the party’s flags in the 2027 general elections.

The winners include Precious Igwe of Port Harcourt Federal Constituency 1, Blessing Amadi (Port Harcourt Federal Constituency 2), Dumnamene Deekor (Gokana/Khana Federal Constituency), Lynda Stewart (Okrika Fed Constituency), Martins Amaewhule (Obio/Akpor Federal Constituency), Solomon Jack (Asari Toru/Akuku Toru Fed Constituency) and Victor Obuzor (Ahoada East & West Federal Constituency), among others.

Daily Sun observed that the exercise at Orogbum Ward 2 Ogbunabali, in Port Harcourt Local Government Area of Rivers State, Option 4 was deployed for the primary election, where over 782 delegates unanimously voted in favour of Blessing Amadi, the aspirant for Port Harcourt 2 Federal Constituency 2.

Also, some party chieftains under the Rainbow Coalition (APC-PDP) were present at the venue and coordinated the entire electoral process at the Ward.

Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) also observed the primary election, in line with the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria as amended.

The Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and Department of State Service (DSS) provided adequate security throughout the exercise.
