Rivers State Police Command has arrested 18 suspected armed robbers and kidnappers as well as a native doctor. Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, said: “The command has dealt with the criminals terrorising the state. We gave them a hot chase and arrested them in their different hideouts.
“The Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU) arrested a native doctor and other suspects involved in a horrific case of ritual killing of two children and recovered a bottle containing the drained blood of the victims.
“Police operatives have a joint security team with the military and recovered three pump action guns, two locally pistols, four local barrel guns, assorted ammunition and two motorcycles from the hoodlums.
“An attempt by criminals targeting pipelines was foiled. A suspect was arrested with four dynamites, communication equipment. Police operatives arrested 10 suspected armed robbers on from their hideouts.
“The command has activated a rapid response strategy with patrol teams and under cover operatives deployed to strategic locations.”
Adepoju urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with the police by reporting any suspicious activities without delay.
