Rivers LG poll: Fubara set to swear in newly elected chairmen

Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State will swear in the newly elected local government chairmen today.

The newly elected chairmen will be sworn in at 4:00 p.m. in the Executive Council Chambers of the state’s Government House in Port Harcourt.

Tammy Danagogo, the Secretary to the State Government, disclosed this in a statement.

The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, RSIEC, declared the winners of the local government elections, with 22 of 23 LGAs won by the Action Peoples Party (APP).

The statement reads: “His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, the Governor of Rivers State, will today Sunday, October 6, 2024, swear in the newly elected Council Chairmen at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Port Harcourt, by 4:00 pm.

“The newly elected Chairmen, along with one (1) guest each, are expected to be seated by 3:30 pm.”
