Electorate in Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency have vowed to protect their votes in the February 16 and March 2 elections.

At a one-day election awareness programme, in Festac Town, the people warned that they would resist any attempt by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to rig the elections.

The programme, organised by the Justice Development and Peace Commission (JDPC), in collaboration with the Festac Deanery Laity Council, Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos, under the directive of the His Grace, Archbishop Alfred Adewale Martins, was chaired by Joseph Okpoye and presided over by the Parish Priest, Very Rev. Fr. Melvis Mayaki.

Speaking, the JDPC Deanery Coordinator, Onyema Onyenankeya, said the event was designed for candidates and electorate in the constituency to interface, for the people to know those seeking their votes, assess their achievements and what they plan to achieve if elected into office, in order for the people to vote wisely.
