Former Labour Party gubernatorial candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, yesterday, launched a new mobile application aimed at providing economic opportunities and policy information to Lagos residents, coinciding with the second anniversary of the controversial 2023 gubernatorial election.
He noted that the 2023 Lagos gubernatorial election was marred by allegations of voter suppression and violence in several parts of the state, with international and local observers documenting incidents that raised concerns about the electoral process.
The app, simply called, ‘Our Lagos,’ offers users access to grants, skill development programmes, job opportunities and information about Rhodes-Vivour’s policy proposals for Lagos State.
Speaking at the launch event, he described the initiative as a practical tool to empower the people who believe in a better Lagos.
“This is not about politics as usual. It’s about demonstrating a different approach to leadership, one centred on service, accountability and genuinely improving lives,” he said.
The new platform features three main components, a grant programme for small businesses and entrepreneurs, skill development courses tailored to current market demands and a job portal connecting users with employment opportunities through partnership with private companies.
He stated that, “these grants aren’t handouts, they’re investments in your potential, in your dreams and in our collective future.”
The app also includes a section dedicated to policy discussions, where users can access detailed information about Rhodes-Vivour’s vision for Lagos State across sectors, including infrastructure, healthcare, education and economic development.
