Nursing Science students of Rhema University, Aba, Nigeria, have posted excellent results in the just concluded basic nursing exams conducted by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.

In the recently released results, 32 out of the 33 candidates who sat for the exams passed, while one posted a referral in one course.

Speaking on the results, the university’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Ogbonnaya Onwudike, commended the students “for making the university proud.” He stressed the need for continual hard work as there were still more hurdles to cross in their journey to becoming qualified nurses and midwives, adding that the university would stop at nothing to produce quality personnel for the global marketplace.

The Head, Department of Nursing Science, Dr Florence Udoinyang, while commending the students for their excellent results, lauded the university for creating an enabling environment for students to thrive.

“Though there is still more work to be done, my colleagues and I will continue to do our best to ensure that our students continually turn out well in both internal and external exams, and to become world-class graduates of nursing and midwifery.”

The students, it was learnt, are the first batch of Nursing Science students of Rhema University, Nigeria to sit for the professional Nursing and Midwifery Council exams. This came on the heels of the a recent full accreditation granted to the school’s Nursing Science department by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.

Earl Okezie, Public Relations Officer of Rhema University said the school is a faith-based institution poised to equip humanity for excellence by applying the head and the heart connection philosophy of education.

It opened its doors to the first set of students in the 2009/2010 academic year, and by this 2023/2024 academic session the school would be having its 14th matriculation ceremony.
