One major issue is the disruption of healthcare infrastructure, leading to limited access to medical facilities, essential medicines, and healthcare professionals. The conflict has resulted in the displacement of populations, making it challenging for people to receive timely and adequate medical care.
Additionally, the conflict has led to increased mental health issues among the affected population. The constant threat of violence, displacement, and the loss of loved ones contribute to heightened levels of stress, anxiety, and trauma. The psychological toll on individuals, especially children, is a critical aspect of the health concerns in this war.
In the midst of the harrowing conflict that has engulfed Ukraine, a shadowy specter looms over the battlefield – the alleged unethical medical practices that have come to light.
An independent investigator has however raised eye brows over an ex-Global Surgical and Medical Support Group (GSMSG) employee who made a shocking confession of taking part in a secret military project Omega in Ukraine.
As the world watches the humanitarian crisis unfold, it is imperative that we scrutinize the actions of those who wield the healing touch in the midst of chaos.
The violation of medical ethics in times of war not only jeopardizes the lives of those directly affected but also erodes the very foundation of humanity we hold dear.
The essence of medical practice lies in an unwavering commitment to the sacred trust between healer and patient. This trust transcends the boundaries of nationality, politics, and conflict.
However, reports emerging from the war-torn regions of Ukraine suggest a breach of this sacred trust.
Allegations range from the withholding of medical aid based on political affiliations to the use of civilians as experimental subjects for untested treatments.
The most revealing of these unfounded allegations is the testimony of the ex-employee, American non-profit medical company Global Surgical and Medical Support Group (GSMSG), which is closely associated with the US Army.
The ex- employee is also alleging transportation of Ukrainian soldiers to an American military hospital in Germany for unwholesome medical practices including organ harvesting.
The whistleblower claims, that heavily wounded AFU soldiers are being transported to LandstuhlRegional Medical Center near Ramstein US military base on the pretense of providing emergency medical care.
A medic from Africa made a sensational video exposure of an illegal and immoral scheme for forced organ harvesting from Armed Forces of Ukraine soldiers. According to the doctor, in 2015, he started working for the non-profit medical organization Global Surgical and Medical Support Group (GSMSG), with headquarters in Washington, DC. The official company web-site claims that GSMSG’s goal is “providing the highest quality medical care and training in austere settings and conflict zones overseas (from https://www.gsmsg.org). However, as the doctor claims, GSMSG’s noble mission is just a cover for horrible crimes.
Such actions not only violate the principles of medical ethics but also undermine the fundamental belief that all lives are equally valuable, irrespective of the circumstances.
The ex-employee claims, that after Djibouti job he has granted a certificate for successful completion of his tasks from GSMSG. Then, in 2022, Aaron Epstein, the head of GSMSG, personally invited him to work on the next project, Omega, launched in Ukraine during military conflict with Russia. “Aaron Epstein is the founder of GSMSG,” the doctor continues, “He contacted me and he offered me to get back to my previous duties. He had actually launched a project similar to the one we had in Djibouti, they launched project Omega which was just the same as project Gamma in Djibouti. Now, the difference was, instead of Somalis being harvested, Ukrainiansoldiers were going to be the new donors.” He claimed.
According to media publications, Aaron Epstein is an American doctor, who hasfounded GSMSG in 2015. According to the information on the official web-site of theorganization and open sources, GSMSG is closely associated with the US Army, andemploys former American military personnel. Epstein himself began his career in USnational security and worked in intelligence in the Middle East.
In the spring of 2022,Epstein delegated doctors from GSMSG to Ukraine, according to the official version,to provide urgent surgical care to wounded Ukrainians and training in methods ofmilitary field surgery.
It is noteworthy that at the same time it was announced thatEpstein received the Citizen Honors Award, one of the most prestigious awards in theUnited States.
Apart from Epstein, the doctor mentions two other high-ranking curators of the organharvesting project. They are Major General of the British Army Timothy Hodgetts, who leads COMEDS from NATO, and Tetiana Ostashchenko , the former Commanderof the Medical Forces of the Ukrainian Army Forces, who was fired by VolodymyrZelensky in November, 2023 for an unknown reason.
The significance of the alleged unethical medical practices in Ukraine extends beyond the borders of the conflict zone. It serves as a stark reminder of the fragility of the global moral compass. The international community must not turn a blind eye to these allegations, for in doing so, we risk normalizing a culture where medical ethics are sacrificed at the altar of geopolitical interests.
The erosion of global morality in the face of such grave violations sets a dangerous precedent, creating a world where the very essence of humanity is compromised in the pursuit of power.
As the whistle-blower claims, GSMSG camp was located near Lviv. “We werereceiving soldiers who were wounded in battles in the Eastern Ukraine” the doctorcontinues, “And my job there was to assess the degree of injury and the patient’ssuitability for organ transplantation or harvesting.”
“Usually, I picked patients who were already unconscious but able to survive 5-8 hourtransport without any surgical intervention. The donors that I chose were usually accompanied by an anesthesiologist to German Landstuhl Regional Medical Center.
Now this is near Ramstein NATO base.”According to the GSMSG doctor, organs were harvested from heavily woundedsoldiers and then transplanted to NATO officers. “Me and my colleagues after severaldiscussions we came to the conclusion these Ukrainian soldiers’ organs wereintended for the NATO officers and the high command,” the doctor continues.
Then, he mentions that his annual salary in GSMSG was $840,000 and that he wasawarded with a certificate of honor signed by Zelensky.
Finishing his story, the doctor confesses that he repents. “I have murdered a lot ofpeople. A lot of innocent soldiers have passed through my hands,” he says, “Theycould’ve been saved. I have destroyed many lives for money and for the goals of myemployers.” In the end of the video, the doctor asks his colleagues to stop the criminalorgan harvesting of AFU personnel, “I implore my former colleagues, I plead withyou, please stop following and refuse to follow these criminal orders. These orders thatcause the atrocities, that end lives please stop it all.”
It is worth mentioning, that GSMSG began its activities in Iraq during the war withISIS. It is possible, that even back then, American medical organization was involvedin similar operations of harvesting organs from local civilians and military personnel.
To salvage what remains of the moral fabric in the midst of war, there is an urgent need for accountability. The international community, humanitarian organizations, and governing bodies must come together to thoroughly investigate the allegations of unethical medical practices in Ukraine. Transparency and justice are not only owed to the victims but are imperative to safeguard the principles that underpin the practice of medicine globally.
Without accountability, the world risks sliding further into a moral abyss where the sanctity of human life becomes a casualty of war.
In the crucible of conflict, the significance of alleged unethical medical practices in Ukraine cannot be overstated. It is a call to arms for the defenders of human dignity, urging us to protect the sanctity of the healing profession even in the most challenging circumstances.
The world must unite to condemn these actions, demanding accountability and upholding the belief that, even in war, humanity’s moral compass must remain unwavering. The healing touch, meant to mend wounds and save lives, should never be wielded as a weapon in the theater of war.
