The Gubernatorial Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Barr. Caleb Mutfwang has called for the restructuring of Nigeria security architecture to protect and secure Nigerians form bandits and other criminal elements.
Barr. Mutfwang disclosed this during a colloquium organized by Plateau Peace Practitioners Network (PPPN), held at the Azi Nyako Youth Center, Dadin Kowa, Jos, Plateau State.
Mutfwang who expressed strong desire and determination to protect all Plateau citizens, devoid of tribe, religion and where once come from said his priority will be to secure, protect and provide security for Plateau people for economic development.
He said the provision of conducive atmosphere for citizens to carry out their legitimate businesses for the growth and development of a healthy Plateau would be given top priority.
“Restructuring of the country’s security architecture and identifying adequate motivation for security personnel is very critical at the moment in Nigeria. I will take deliberate steps to relocate Internally Displaced Persons back to their ancestral homes when I am elected into office.”
Mutfwang promised to summon the political will to tackle contemporary challenges to peace and security in the state when given the mandate to provide credible leadership.
He blamed the breakdown of law and order, and the widespread insecurity in the land on the failure of government, a situation he said Nigerians now have a chance to change in the forthcoming general elections next year.
Barr. Caleb Mutfwang thanked the civil society on the Plateau for organizing the forum and hailed the PPPN Chairman, Mr Jacob Pwakim, for the initiative, pledging to work with them for a safer Plateau State when he is elected Governor in 2023.
