Reps seat: Ibori-Suenu dedicates Appeal Court victory to constituents

Member of the House of Representatives representing Ethiope Federal Constituency, of Delta State, Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, has dedicated her victory at the Appeal Court to God and her constituents.

Ibori-Suenu, who is the daughter of former Delta State governor, James Ibori, in a statement, on Tuesday, said the judgment of the Court of Appeal, Lagos, which affirmed her was a validation of the wishes of her constituents.

The lawmaker, who is also the chairman of the House Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission( NDDC), had defeated Ben Rolands Igbakpa of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) , Halims Ahoda of ( All Progressives Congress ( APC) and Ogboru Michael Etabunor of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) at the February 25 National Assembly polls.

However, the trio had challenged the election results up to the Court of Appeal. Nevertheless, the appeallate Court, in its judgment on Tuesday, affirmed the lawmakers as winner of the poll.

Ibori-Suenu, while lauding the decision judiciary validating her election, said it is obvious that “democracy has come to stay.”
