The House of Representatives yesterday passed a bill to repeal and enact the 2025 Appropriation Act, to extend the implementation of the capital component of the Act from June 30 to Sept. 30.

This followed the presentation of an amendment bill by the Leader of the House, Julius Ihonvbere (APC-Edo), at an emergency plenary in Abuja, yesterday.

In his lead debate, Ihonvbere urged members to support the passage of the bill to enable the government to complete ongoing projects across the country.

The house, after an accelerated consideration, unanimously voted and passed the bill for first, second and third readings.

Speaker of the House, Abbas Tajudeen, adopted the amended bill as the working document of the House.

The bill, in concurrence with the Senate, will be sent to the president for his assent.
