The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for the House of Representatives in Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency of Lagos State, Thankgod Christopher Ibeh, has unveiled his manifestos, promising to take care of the elderly, the youth and people living with disabilities if elected in the 2027 general election.
The promises were made at an interactive town hall meeting with the residents of Amuwo Odofin in Festac recently.
Ibeh, a businessman and former governorship aspirant in Anambra State, said his love for humanity and the desire to give back to society were his driving force, even as he promised to offer effective and meaningful representation if elected.
He chronicled his journey in life from childhood to adulthood and how he worked hard through trust and integrity to achieve success, noting that people should know the character and background of the people who want to represent them at any level of governance.
He said: “I stand before you today to introduce myself and my plans for you as I vie for the House of Representatives. It is a privilege for me to stand before you and it is not by accident that I am here. In 2021, I contested for the APGA ticket for the Anambra governorship with Chukwuma Soludo. I have also contested for the House of Representatives before and I have been the chairman of APGA in Lagos for more than six years.”
He told the Amuwo residents to hold him by his words as his bond with them and urged them to protect their votes at the election.
He promised to empower the youth through a programme, ‘One youth, two skills,’ which would ensure that unemployed youth are taken off the street.
The youth empowerment skills, according to him, would also help address the issue of insecurity in Amuwo Odofin because once the youth are gainfully employed through skills acquisition and empowerment, their minds would be engaged in a meaningful venture instead of engaging in crimes.
He also promised to take care of the elderly as he has been doing in his village since 2014 through his foundation.
“My promises here are my bond with you and I will never disappoint you. I understand that people now vote for individuals, not parties, so I urge you to vote for me. Make sure that you protect your votes because we will build this community together. I promise that if you are 70 years and above in this constituency, you will be on my payroll monthly through my foundation. I will teach the youth how to fish and empower them through a programme, ‘One youth, two skills.’ It is not rocket science to change the community. I will sponsor laws that will empower the people here. I am bringing light to Amuwo Odofin because we have suffered enough here. My impact will be seen as quickly as possible,” he promised.
He urged the people to recall him or show him the exit door if his performance falls below expectation.

“If I go to Abuja to represent you and you score me 5/10, show me the way out because all I am trying to do is to represent you with a scorecard of 10/10. My scorecard will speak for me because I honestly want to give back to my people who have shown love to me. I must make sure that I give you the best,” he assured.
On youth unemployment, he said: “Youth unemployment remains one of the greatest challenges facing our constituency. My leadership will aggressively pursue employment opportunities by partnering with the Federal Government ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs), private sector organisations and development partners to address the matter.”
He also promised to ensure road rehabilitation as well as deepen healthcare for the people across the constituency.
“I will facilitate the construction of strategic roads across the constituency, rehabilitate dilapidated roads, improve drainage systems and curb flooding, among others.”
“In healthcare, we shall upgrade primary healthcare centres, facilitate the provision of modern medical equipment, support medical outreaches, improve maternal and child healthcare services and promote preventive healthcare through public health awareness campaigns.”
On agriculture, he said: “I will train and empower farmers in fisheries, livestock, poultry, crop production and agro-processing, among others.”
“There are also plans to renovate dilapidated schools, support the digitalisation of school libraries, the provision of ICT facilities and support teacher capacity development, among others.”
“I will also support scholarship and bursary awards to our students, as well as support people living with disabilities and the elderly.”
“This is also not forgetting support for small and micro enterprises (SMEs) and vocational skills.”
Speaking to journalists, the director general of Ibeh’s campaign, TKC Campaign Organisation, Ololade Johnson, noted that with Ibeh at the lower legislative chamber of the National Assembly, Amuwo Odofin would not remain the same.
