Afrobeats sensation Rema has finally spoken on reports of being paid N4.5 billion to perform at an Indian wedding.

Daily Sun reported that Rema was tapped to perform at the wedding ceremony of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, the daughter of pharmaceutical tycoons Viren and Shaila Merchant.

In a recent interview with GRM Daily, the singer noted that thrilling fans at the wedding was a significant milestone in his career.

While shying away from disclosing how much he was paid, Rema said the sum was a huge one.

Responding to a question about being paid $3 million for the Ambanis wedding in India, Rema stated: “Hehehe, that is all I can say to be honest, money wise it was a great achievement, it was beautiful.

“I love India and India loves me too. It just feels good to see something that people trolled me for, criticised me for and I am benefiting off of that.

“Imagine if I had stopped, imagine if I had listened to the trolls and I think I feel I have to switch it up and four years later it paid and it paid big.”

The wedding was attended by renowned celebrities, including the Kardashians, John Cena, and Canadian singer Justin Bieber, who also performed at the event.
