Regions Healthcare Hospital, Mgbirichi, Imo State, has been nominated for the Private Tertiary Healthcare Facility of the Year category at the 12th Nigerian Healthcare Excellence Awards (NHEA) 2026.
The nomination marks the second time the specialist hospital has been shortlisted in the category.
Reacting to the nomination, the Executive Medical Director of the hospital, Prof. Benjamin Anyanwu, said the recognition reflected the institution’s commitment to providing specialist healthcare services in Nigeria.
According to him, the nomination validates the hospital’s vision of making specialist medical care accessible to Nigerians and reducing the need for medical tourism.
The hospital’s Administrator, Mrs. Ijeoma Anyanwu, described the nomination as recognition of the efforts of the institution’s workforce, including clinical, administrative and support staff.
She also expressed appreciation to patients, referring physicians, partners and members of the public for their continued support and confidence in the hospital.
Located in Mgbirichi, Imo State, Regions Healthcare Hospital provides specialist services in stroke care, neurosciences, interventional cardiology, open-heart surgery, neurosurgery, nephrology and critical care.
The 12th Nigerian Healthcare Excellence Awards is themed “Innovation, Local Manufacturing and Digital Transformation in Healthcare” and recognises contributions to healthcare delivery across the country.
