A Professor of Forestry, Shadrach Akindele, has been appointed as the fourth substantive Vice Chancellor of the Redeemer’s University, Ede, Osun State.
A statement by the spokesperson of the university, Adetunji Adeleye, on Wednesday, stated that the appointment was confirmed by the Board of Trustees of the University led by Pastor Olukayode Pitan.
Adeleye stated that the appointment followed a rigorous recruitment exercise carried out by a professional recruiting firm and top-notch academics, in line with global best practices in headhunting for strategic positions in higher education institutions.
“Prof Akindele was ordained as a full Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in 2009 and has continued to serve in various departments of the church,” the statement added.
