The Rector, Redeemer’s College of Technology and Management (RECTEM) Dr. Stella Awoh Mofunanya, has warned new students of the institution to desist from cultism, hooliganism, corruption, indecent dressing and other forms of social menace.
She gave the warning during the 7th matriculation ceremony of the institution held at Redemption City, Mowe, Ogun State.
According to her, the school has zero tolerance for mediocrity. She, therefore, urged the fresh undergraduate students to combine academic excellence with spiritual growth to enable them excel in their academics.
“We recognize that education is not just about acquiring knowledge and skills, but also about cultivating character and integrity”.
We are committed to helping you develop into well-rounded individuals who are equipped to make a positive impact in your communities,” she said.
Mofunanya said the College is governed by rules and regulations, which the students should uphold at all times.
She urged them to be disciplined and work according to the rules. Making a reference to Bible in Proverb 22:29, she said, “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men,” stressing that RECTEM will not condone indiscipline nor lower its standard.
The college matriculated a total of 214 students made up of National Diploma and Higher National Diploma Programmes from four Schools: School of Engineering Technology, School of Environmental Studies, School of Management Studies and School of Science and Technology.
