The Managing Director of Powell Homes and Shelters Ltd, Emmanuel Chibuikem, has identified the real estate sector as a practical and sustainable pathway for job creation and economic empowerment among young people in Nigeria.

He made this known during the Realtors Fest/Meet and Greet organised by the company at its South-East regional office in Independence Layout, Enugu, where youths were encouraged to explore opportunities within the property market as a means of livelihood.

Chibuikem stated that the real estate industry holds significant potential to absorb unemployed youths across the country if properly harnessed, noting that Powell Homes and Shelters Ltd has deliberately structured its operations to serve as a platform for wealth creation.

According to him, the company provides an inclusive environment where young Nigerians, regardless of background, can build sustainable careers through property marketing and sales.

He observed that prevailing economic challenges have made survival difficult for many, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, warning that such hardship could drive some into crime and other social vices. However, he maintained that real estate presents a credible alternative for self-reliance.

He further disclosed that the company has expanded its property portfolio beyond Nigeria to countries such as Kenya and Rwanda, thereby creating broader opportunities for determined youths willing to learn and work.

Chibuikem emphasised that the firm remains committed to transparency and inclusiveness, while also investing in continuous training and mentorship to equip young people with the skills required to succeed in the sector.

“Powell Homes and Shelters Ltd is not just a real estate company; it is a movement aimed at redefining how business is done in Nigeria. We believe in integrity, accountability, and rewarding hard work. Our doors are open to every young Nigerian willing to learn and grow.

“Through dedication and consistency, anyone can build a sustainable income stream here. We are committed to supporting our realtors with the right tools, training, properties for sale, and also the environment needed to succeed and become financially independent in today’s challenging economy,” he said.

Also speaking, the company’s Manager, Steve Ibaro, described the initiative as a deliberate effort to bridge the gap between unemployment and income-generating opportunities for youths.

He noted that the firm has established structures that support both new and experienced realtors to thrive, stressing that discipline and commitment remain key to success in the industry.

According to him, young people can leverage the platform provided by Powell Homes and Shelters Ltd to attain financial stability and long-term growth.

Some participants at the event were also rewarded for their efforts, with items such as fans and blenders distributed as part of the company’s incentive drive.
