Real estate firm pledges to empower more realtors this year

The Managing Director of Powell Homes and Shelters Ltd, Dr. Chibuikem Onyekachi, has declared that his firm will empower more realtors across Nigeria and West Africa in 2026 as part of its commitment to making life better for people in the real estate business.

Speaking with newsmen in Lagos, when he, alongside about 20 other realtors, returned from a vacation in Kigali, Rwanda, Onyekachi stated that his vision is to create a scenario in the real estate sector where investors, realtors and partners get the best value for their investments, inputs, and efforts. He stated that Powell Homes and Shelters Ltd, in 2025, shared seven cars, 20 generators, over 100 iPhone 14 and 12 Pro Max phones, 100 refrigerators, fans and air conditioners, among other items, to realtors who worked hard for the company.

He also stated that all these are aside from the huge commission from each investment, which the company pays to both staff and realtors who brought investors to buy its properties.

According to him, what Powell Homes is doing is to transform the real estate business and ensure that hardworking realtors and staff earn according to their efforts. He explained that the harder one works, the more one earns.

He further said the company has created a system where every investor gets value for their investment, while those who brought them are rewarded for their efforts. He added that the company sells properties at affordable rates and provides flexible payment plans that enable people across different income levels to own genuine properties. Onyekachi, an architect, also stated that the company plans to take over 100 realtors, partners, and staff on vacation in 2026, noting that anyone can be part of it. He explained that the visit is intended to give participants time to reflect on their activities, rest, and observe developments in other parts of the continent.

He further stated that the visit to Kigali, where about 20 persons participated would be a biennial activity, noting that those who work deserve appreciation.

He said: “As you can see, we are coming back from a four-day trip to Kigali where about 20 persons were sponsored. They are people who worked harder in 2025 for the company, and we decided to reward their efforts. Some of them were shocked because it was their first time leaving Nigeria. For others, it was their first time boarding an aircraft and travelling outside the country. This is what we intend to expand in 2026 to 100 persons or more. We are among the first real estate company to do this in the South East and South South, if not Nigeria, and we hope to do more. Those who went to Kigali came from our branches in Enugu, Abuja, Imo, Anambra, Asaba and Umuahia, among others.”

On behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr. Chris Alex said the trip was a strong motivation, describing it as a reward that showed the company values hard work, commitment, and growth, while encouraging other realtors and partners with the company to remain dedicated, productive, and confident that their efforts would always be rewarded.
