…Says, it is capable of causing chaos, anarchy across the country

A Northern group under the auspices of Arewa Think Tank (ATTAK ) has noted that the recent reactions over respective comments made by the Vice President, Kashim Ibrahim Shettima and former Senator Adamu Bulkachuwa were outrageous and inciting, capable of causing chaos and anarchy across the country.
Vice President Shettima was quoted to have drawn a parallel of contrast between a Muslim and a Christian candidate during the race for Senate President, saying that it was only good for national stability and cohesion to consider a Christian.
The VP was also quoted to have added that a Christian candidate was preferable, no matter how pious in religion compared to a Muslim from the North.
On his own part, while speaking at the valedictory session of the 9th Senate on June 10, Bulkachuwa who represented Bauchi North zone was quoted to have said that he infringed on his wife’s “freedom and independence” while she served as President of the appellate court.
His wife, Zainab Bulkachuwa was the President of the Court of Appeal between 2014 and 2020. She retired from the court after clocking the mandatory retirement age of 70.
However, the Convener of Arewa Think Tank, Muhammad Alhaji Yakubu told Reporters at a press conference at the weekend that the respective comments by Shettima and Bulkachuwa were handworks of fake news bearers who ran to town with a twisted and corrupted versions and blew them out of proportion.
According to Yakubu, “Only recently the Vice President Kashim Ibrahim Shettima while harping on the exigency and beauty of inclusivity in national assignments drew a parallel of contrast between a Muslim and a Christian in the race for senate president, hinting that in the present arrangement of hierarchy of power -its only good for national stability and cohesion to consider a Christian -no matter how ungraded in pious religious consideration compared to a Muslim.
“No sooner had he said this than the brewers of confusion went to town with a twisted and corrupted version -choking the social space with confusion. The vice President had to come and make public apology for the misrepresentation and misinformation raided on his harmless exhortation.
“Latest in the series of appalling opera of willful misrepresentation and misinformation masterminded by few unpatriotic elements in our midst is the vindictive raid on the valedictory speech of Senator Bulkachuwa.
“The Senator feeling safe in the chambers of the Senate, completely unaware that unscrupulous elements have taken positions with their devices, attempted to drawing a passionate parallel on some ways he had assisted his friends through his wife, retired justice Zainab Bulkachuwa.
“Little had he even had the time to shed more light on the nature, complexion and manner of such assistance when he was stopped by the ex- Senate President -for the fear that mischief makers would make a feast out of it with choking cadency of misrepresentation and misinformation.
“His fears were confirmed because that’s exactly what happened.The undertakers of reputation and integrity wasted no time choking Senator Bulkachuwa’s uncompleted speech with damaging toxicity of uncomplimentary commentaries and exaggerated footnotes, again blown out of proportion with unkind criminal dispositional objective Like always, the onerous task of cleansing the mess lies with the victims of the image damaging raid who would have to unveil a web of cleansing devices by accurately throwing further lights and elaborate clarification on the criminally misrepresented speech.
“These creepy individuals and their outpost in the media space have perfected the act of laying siege on their target at very important occasion of speech delivery session or public commentary on emergent national issues. No sooner has the person said one thing than they run to town with a twisted and corrupted versions blowing it out of proportion.
“The danger of such callous exhibition of indiscretion, if not quickly tackled and arrested with all the might of public resistance has the danger of creating chaos in the country with the potential of snowballing into something beyond the proportion of unintended consequences of the minders”.
“We feel for both Senator Bulkachuwa and his wife who had to come out to dispel the misperception thrown into the public space. We are of the opinion that it’s only out of righteous obligation, because the retired honourable judge never really had much defence to do because her outstanding trajectory of productivity, performance, resilience, fearless judicial activism, unparalleled land mark judgements , spanning forty years are wired in bold crystal chapters in our national history.
“While we are sure that the experiences of the Vice President Kashim Ibrahim Shettima and Senator Bulkachuwa and his wife, may not be the end of these creeping enterprise of misrepresentation and misquotation, the entire nation must rise fast and stamp its feet with all the might it can muster in stopping these marauding band of sneaky mischief makers in their tracks, who are all out to smear the reputation of people whose lives dedication and meritorious services are treasured subject of study in our national history.
“We at the Arewa Think Tank (ATTAK ) a body of resilient and committed patriots, strong in the act of rooting for public good found it necessary to raise our voice loud against the sudden ouburst of deliberate twisting , criminal misinformation and vindictive misrepresentation in the public space, aided by some shadowy gang of never-do good elements squatting in the cell of the media and their collaborators in the political space .
“The undisclosed motive behind these feeds of uninspiring wave of misinformation is to ignite a train of convulsive confusion and mistrust among the people and, in the end, achieve their criminal objective of reputational damage to respected persons whose marks of exceptional stellar productivity are beyond question and of many years standing”.
