Abdulfatah, great piece as always, Trump’s victory is blessing in disguise. For too long we’ve lost our best brains to them. In August 2016 Vladimir Putin, said “if Trump wins, the world will know those behind ISIS. Africa will know the sponsors of Boko Haram and Al-Shabab, peace will return in Syria and Middle East, but if he loses, the world should prepare for its destruction”. Barack Obama had the chance to help his brethren but out of his hate for Africa, he decided to work with expeditionists, threatening nations of Africa who fail to comply with gay marriage. He uprooted many great leaders in Africa. He worked against Christians in Nigeria. Thanks to USA for restoring your country to God.

Abdulfatah, I was stunned by the mathematics of the 58 difference in Electoral College votes outclassing the 233,414 superior votes by Hillary to cede victory to Trump. Is that all it takes to make an American president? What therefore is the need for all the electoral campaigns candidates are made to go through when the result of the Electoral College outstrips people’s voting patterns? This is nothing other than a brazen corrupt electoral process; a fraud of unimaginable dimension. Pardon my ignorance if there is any reason for its justification which was not included in your article. Even with that, where is the fairness in the people casting more votes for a choice candidate only to be set aside by the decision of a few in the Electoral College? What a magnanimous superior “college”! An American wonder. It could not be less. Trump’s grouse against Nigerians taking Americans’ jobs shows what Nigeria stands to gain if opportunities abound for our intelligent youths to put their intellectual capacities to use. Is Nigeria’s technological environment near required standard to absorb America-based Nigerian wonder youths? Is the political structure that produces leaders qualified to streamline development along technological track in Nigeria? What we have in place are tribal leaders with feudal instincts.
We are trillions of miles from modern technological strategies. So, all we can do is to pray that Trump would not recover America by throwing back to us our geniuses helping America’s growth because there is no room for such sophisticated youth to thrive in the country.
Talking about restructuring the electoral process is no doubt a sane call. But looking back at what has happened to such processes in the past has rendered such a deceptive venture dead at birth. What has President Buhari done about the report of the National Conference handed over to him by President Jonathan to date than to conceal it in a trash can? Everything is politicized in Nigeria. Ken Nnamani’s panel on “possible amendments to the Constitution and Electoral Act 2010” is a political ruse to hoodwink Nigerians that President Buhari is carrying south easterners along in the scheme of things against the truth of marginalization being rightly touted around. What a man sows he reaps.
Buhari’s effort, in this regard, might suffer the same fate as the National Conference report, handed over to him by Jonathan’s administration, which he has treated with levity and disdain thus far. Pardon my “miserable thinking” but watch out! Just keep saying it right the way you do with your worthy suggestions on the ways out with Nigeria and the leadership’s problems. May God save Nigeria, Amen.

Abdulfatah,I just read your ‘It’s time to take back our country back too’. You said, “we went into last year election without the candidates having any debate” but it’s not true!
There were series of debate platforms but President Buhari and his party APC blatantly refused to attend and it is still the same arrogance and over priced self worth he is still projecting two years into rulership! During the Oputa panel, the same president refused to appear to give clarification on some issues and you are saying we have a nation. Where some feel they can act and do as they like and nothing will happen?
What we have in Nigeria is not democracy but stupid concocted practice of wickedness and witchcraft!

Since what happened with the US presidential election is man proposes, God disposes, what Africans and Nigerians in US will do is to amend their ways and abide by the policies of Donald Trump by having correct documents that will grant them stay in the US.
My advice to African leaders and Nigerian leaders is to sit up for good governance to end exodus of Africans to the US. Africa has resources to make the continent the best among others, if not for corruption and sit tight syndrome.

Abdulfatah, I greet you. The founding fathers of the United States of America out of their genuine desire for justice and fairness in the outcome of elections that determine who occupies the White House, inserted into their constitution, the Electoral College clause. And today, what’s before the entire world, is the wisdom behind that clause: It is working wonders.
This is so because the people back then agreed that they needed a country, agreed that they wanted to live together and the next natural step was the basis on which they were to live together. And that gave birth to the kind of constitution that US has which focuses on freedom, equality and justice. Even when they had used the labour of the black slaves to build their country, at a point, their masters set them free. In contrast, the various ethnic groups that made up Nigeria at the beginning did not know what the British were up to and so did not make any input in the making of their country. They were just told that they had become Nigerians. All of that was for the convenience of the British.
Worse still, the British made sure before they left an internal colonial master who with their support at anytime will continue to sustain the forced relationship at all cost. We may not be able to take our country back due to her faulty foundation except God intervenes. Thanks.
