The Spouse of the Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Hajia Abi Hafsat Abubakar Y. Suleiman has flagged off a free feeding program targeting over 500 Ningi resident daily in the Ramadan period.
Other beneficiary of the free feeding includes hundreds of prison inmates, patients in hospital and Mosque in Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
Hajiya Hafsat Suleiman said the program was in support of the philanthropic gesture of her husband’s determination in fighting hunger and alleviate poverty among the people.
The free feeding program which was done under the Nabalago Foundation has equally empowered over 200 Ningi women and also provided jobs for the unemployed.
Wife of the Speaker Hajiya Hafsat Abubakar Suleiman, also urged the beneficiaries to utilize the items judiciously and support the foundation’s humanitarian services in Ningi LGA and Bauchi State at large.
She said, “Today is not just an ordinary day for me; it’s truly extraordinary. My excitement is beyond words. I am over the moon with joy for my husband’s remarkable gesture and support as he visited the Nabalago Foundation’s Ramadan Food Distribution program.
“Not only did he actively participated in the distribution exercise, but he also took the time to monitor the packaging process. This is a testament to his deep appreciation for the responsibility entrusted to me in managing this noble project.
Elated Speaker, said the donation was aimed aim to reducing economic hardship faced by Nigerians and give succour to the downtrodden just he stressed the need to show love and empathy to the less privilege in the society.
“The rational behind this donation is to alleviate the suffering of our people during this holy month,” Sulaiman said.
Other food items donated include bags of rice, spaghetti, sugar, and granulated oil.
Beneficiaries Aisha Jibrin, Ramlatu Bako, and Jamila Zakari expressed gratitude to the Speaker for the gesture, promising to use the items judiciously.
