Quite order: Jigawa police allays non-indigenes’ fears

Jigawa State Police Commissioner, Rasheed Akimbo, has urged non-indigenes resident in the state not to lose sleep over purported quit order issued against the Igbo to leave the northern part of the country come October 1, 2017.

The police boss said this after a meeting with a group of non-indigenes in the state.

The police commissioner, who declared that though the police would not dismiss the threat in its entirety due to the level of mediation going on with Acting President emu Osinbajo, but he maintained that every resident in the state were safe.

He said the Igbo and all other non-indigenes resident in the state had the legal rights to stay and continue with their lawful activities.

He said the people who should begin to ‎move away from such “unnecessary remarks and concentrate on how we can be able to tap from one another”.

Director, Special Services in the office of the Secretary to the State Governments (SSG), Alhaji Zubairu Ahmed, also told the gathering that he had lived in some eastern parts of the country and was accommodated as one from those from communities.

‎He said he saw no reason why people should be unkind to their fellow human beings with such threat, adding, “We are all human beings created by the same God for the same purpose even though the mode of worship may differ.”.
