With its commitment to empower Nigerian women, premium food brand, Mamador of PZ Wilmar has challenged female entrepreneurs to explore their potential to face their challenges head-on.

Marketing Manager of PZ Wilmar, Chioma Mbanugo, made the call at the yearly August Women’s Meeting, a gathering recognised amongst Igbo community as the annual homecoming congress.

The gathering has been used over the years as a forum for Igbo women in the diaspora and in the cities to travel back to their villages to meet with their local counterparts to discuss matters pertaining to community development and other cultural and socio-economic initiatives.

She said the company used to go to the South East to support these women, but that COVID-19 pandemic changed the narrative. She said the company instead turned it into a forum for women from all walks of life and social class and ethnic backgrounds to discuss, share experiences, encourage, support, and push each other ever since the first virtual August Meeting in 2020.

She said Mamador prides itself as a brand that brings more flavours to life, allowing women to experience life outside of their routines, motivating them to see life’s limitless possibilities and empowering them to achieve fulfilment in their chosen endeavours.  “We wanted to make a difference; to start a change process that will ultimately shape the transformation and empowerment of Nigerian women.”

The meeting featured a panel comprising renowned women like CEO of Tricia Biz, Tricia Olufemi-Olumide, food blogger and private chef, Ify Monye Mogekwu, Oluwakemi Longe, and the moderator, Titi Oyinsan.
