The PwC Chess4Change second mentorship programme for public schools students held on Wednesday and Thursday in Lagos.
The programme which took place at Government College Lagos Eric Moore Surulere, had three (3) speakers who shared their wealth of knowledge and experience in their various fields.
The programme had three sessions which focused on three topics; Security and Safety, Health and Life style and Juvenile delinquency.
Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), Taiwo Oyewale, took the first session where she shared the basic security and safety tips for students. The session was very interactive with students relating to all that was shared during the session. She highlighted basic security and safety tips at home and outside the home.
The second session had Dr. Adebukola Bojuwoye, Head Lagos State Sports Medicine. He spoke to the students on the topic; Dangers of drugs and substance abuse to human health. During his session, he highlighted the effect of these abuses to the human organs most especially the circulatory system and the relationship between drugs/substance abuse with mental health. He urged the students to always seek help and talk to people that can assist them.
Mr. Alex Ogbole from EFCC took the third session for the day. His topic area was Juvenile delinquency with primary focus on students in school. He shared the impact of financial crime on the people, society and the nation. He urged the student to be good ambassador in the society by desist from any form of crime and urged them to imbibe the principles of hard work as there are no short cut to success.
