Population Services International (PSI) Nigeria has taken a bold step to address the stigma surrounding menstrual health and hygiene (MHH) by partnering with renowned Nigerian artists.

The campaign, which includes a short film titled ‘Time of the Month’ and a new single by Yemi Alade, aims to spark open conversations and empower women.

The short film features a stellar cast of Nollywood actors, including Aisha Lawal, Liquorose Afije, Mary Remmy Njoku, Ibrahim Suleiman, Mike Ezuruonye, and Femi Branch. It delves into the often-stigmatized topic of menstruation through compelling storytelling and music.

Yemi Alade, the Grammy-nominated Afrobeats sensation, lends her powerful voice to the cause with her new single, also titled ‘Time of the Month.’

PSI Nigeria believes that by leveraging the influence of these popular artists, they can challenge myths and misconceptions about menstruation. “Yemi Alade is a powerful voice for women, and the talented Nollywood actors are committed to promoting women’s health,” said Pritpal Marjara, a representative of PSI Nigeria.

The campaign aims to empower women and girls to prioritize their menstrual health without shame.

The film and the music video are available on PSIcreativesNigeria’s YouTube channel.
