Protests in Ibadan over scarcity of new naira notes

Protests are currently ongoing in different parts of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, over scarcity of newly redesigned naira notes.

The protests are being staged by bank customers that reportedly went to banks today to make withdrawals, but could not do so because of  paucity of the new legal tender.

The areas in Ibadan, where the protests are taking place include Monatan, Iwo Road, Idi-Ape, and Agodi-Gate. 

The protesters reportedly made bonfire in different parts of Ibadan.

Meanwhile, the protests have caused panic in Ibadan, as parents have been rushing to pick their children in schools over feat of unknown and how the protest would end.
