A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Sam Nkire, has condoled Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State and all other governors, whose states have suffered both human and material losses, since the beginning of the nationwide protests against bad governance.
Nkire had appealed to the protesters to sheathe their swords and shun violent protests, which, according to him, could worsen the economic and security problems of the country.
The elder statesman once again pleaded with the protesters to end the action, which he recognised as their inalienable rights, having made their demands known to President Bola Tinubu, who, he described as “a listening President.”

Tinubu, according to him, was aware of the hunger and suffering in the land and was committed to doing something to end the hardship as soon as possible.
Nkire added that he would never support denying people their rights to protest but that the poor economic and security situation in Kano, Borno and almost all the other states, including Abuja was so fragile that violence could erupt at the least provocation.
He also appealed to the protesters as well as heads of the security agencies to henceforth ensure that the level of violence so far witnessed in Kano, Borno, Abuja and environs among others stopped, noting that, “there is hardly any peaceful protest in Africa.”
