The incumbent Deputy Vice-chancellor Administration at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) Prof. Romanus Ezeokonkwo has been elected as the Acting Vice-chancellor of the university.
In a press statement in Nsukka on Friday signed by the Public Relations Office of the UNN, Chief Okwun Omeaku, said Ezeokonkwo won by 200 votes in the election conducted today (Friday) in the university.
Omeaku said Ezeokonkwo defeated Prof Johnson Urama, Deputy Vice-chancellor of Academic UNN, and Prof Daniel Nwachukwu the Deputy Vice-chancellor of the University of Nigeria Enugu Campus (UNEC) in an election conducted by the Senate at its 422nd session.
According to him, Ezeokonkwo scored 200 votes to defeat Urama and Nwachukwu who scored 180 and 25 votes respectively.
The PRO noted that the position of UNN-VC became vacant following Prof Charles Igwe the outgoing VC, who had completed his five-year tenure.
