The Organizing Committee of the fifth edition of the Prof. Akin Oyebode Cup (PAOC 2026) has announced a strategic partnership with Afriskaut, a leading African football scouting and talent identification platform, in a move aimed at expanding opportunities for young footballers participating in the competition.

The collaboration is expected to strengthen the tournament’s talent development objectives by providing players with greater exposure to scouts, clubs, agents, academies, and other stakeholders within the African and international football ecosystem.

According to the organizers, the partnership aligns with the competition’s long-standing mission of creating pathways for talented young players to progress in their football careers beyond grassroots competition.

“The Prof. Akin Oyebode Cup was established not only to provide competitive football but also to create genuine opportunities for young talents,” the organizers said in a statement. “Partnering with Afriskaut strengthens our ability to connect deserving players with life-changing opportunities beyond the competition. This is truly a partnership made in heaven.”

Through Afriskaut’s scouting and talent-tracking platform, standout performers at the tournament will have enhanced opportunities to showcase their abilities to decision-makers across the global football industry.

Since its inception, the Prof. Akin Oyebode Cup has grown into one of the most influential grassroots football competitions in Ekiti State, serving as a platform for talent discovery while promoting discipline, education, professionalism, and community development through sports.

The 2026 edition, themed “Building to Last,” marks the tournament’s fifth anniversary and will feature youth teams representing the 16 Local Football Councils (LFCs) across Ekiti State. The competition will also be preceded by a capacity-building seminar focused on professionalism, as well as the rules and regulations guiding grassroots football development.

The organizers expressed appreciation to Afriskaut for supporting the vision of the tournament and reiterated their commitment to ensuring that talented young players are identified, documented, and connected to opportunities that can advance their football careers.

The Prof. Akin Oyebode Cup is sponsored by Hon. Akintunde Oyebode and is dedicated to youth development, talent discovery, and community engagement through football.

Afriskaut is a football scouting and talent discovery platform focused on identifying, profiling, tracking, and promoting football talents across Africa while connecting players with clubs, scouts, academies, and opportunities around the world.
