A new grassroots structure, the ORLU4HOPE Movement, has been inaugurated at the weekend in Orlu to mobilise support for Governor Hope Uzodimma’s senatorial ambition ahead of the 2027 general elections.The inauguration, held in Orlu, brought together traditional rulers, political stakeholders, women and youth groups from across Imo West Senatorial District, with Mr Chukwuneye Oktus Daniel, Chairman of the Chukwuneye Oktus Foundation, presiding over the swearing in of the movement’s leadership. The new structure comprises Zonal Executive Members, Coordinators for the 12 Local Government Areas in Imo West and 136 Ward Coordinators.
Speaking at the event, Daniel described ORLU4HOPE as a movement born out of conviction, driven by purpose and inspired by a sincere desire to protect, advance and promote the collective interests of the people of Orlu Zone, adding that the group is founded on gratitude, loyalty, development and collective progress.The event was themed “Senator Hope Uzodimma Is in the Best Interest of Orlu Zone,” which Daniel argued reflects a carefully considered conviction rooted in facts, experience and the realities before the zone.Citing Uzodimma’s record, he pointed to major infrastructure projects, expanded road networks, improved access to public services, strengthened security initiatives, empowerment of young people and the creation of opportunities for economic growth across the state.

“While no administration is without challenges, true leadership is measured by the willingness to confront those challenges and continue moving forward. Senator Hope Uzodimma has consistently shown the resilience, courage, and political capacity required to lead in difficult times,” Daniel said.
He stressed that backing Uzodimma was not merely a political choice but a strategic decision in the best interest of Orlu Zone, clarifying that the movement was not built on bitterness, division or personal ambition, and that its newly inaugurated coordinators would carry the message to every community, ward, village and household throughout Orlu Zone through constructive engagement, peaceful mobilisation and issue based politics.
