A pro-President Bola Tinubu group, Relax Tinubu Is Fixing Nigeria, has unveiled plans to extend its mobilisation campaign to the 774 local government areas of the country as part of efforts to build grassroots support for the President’s 2027 re-election bid.
Edo State Coordinator of the group, Idiake Patrick, announced the plan at a press briefing in Benin City, where he said the organisation would intensify efforts to take the Tinubu administration’s policies, programmes and achievements directly to Nigerians, particularly at the grassroots.
Patrick told journalists that many of the administration’s initiatives had not received sufficient publicity or reached wider public awareness, making direct engagement with communities necessary.
He identified infrastructure development, student financing, tax reforms and increased revenue allocations to states and local governments as some of the areas the group intends to highlight during its mobilisation.
Patrick also commended the administration’s removal of fuel subsidy and the redirection of increased revenues to the different tiers of government.
According to him, the group would complement the activities of other pro-Tinubu support organisations, including City Boy Movement and Renew Hope, while building what he described as genuine grassroots support for the President.
Also speaking at the briefing, Edo State Women Coordinator of the group, Marie Olabisi Idaomi, said women, farmers and other grassroots stakeholders would form a major part of the mobilisation drive.
Idaomi identified the student loan programme as one of the administration’s initiatives the group would take to communities, arguing that mothers would be encouraged by opportunities created for their children.
She also highlighted the participation of farmers in the organisation, saying they were among those who could benefit from policies of the administration.
Idaomi further drew attention to local government autonomy, describing it as an opportunity for citizens to hold council chairmen and councillors accountable for development at the grassroots.
She said Relax was established with the objective of taking its message directly to communities across Nigeria’s 774 local government areas.
Idaomi also praised the administration’s economic and financial reforms, arguing that Tinubu’s background in accounting, finance and revenue administration had influenced his approach to managing the country’s finances.
