Private sector driven economy’ll pull W/Africa out of poverty –Meba

The Private sector must play active roles and drive growth of West African economies through deeper economic integration in the region to pull people out of poverty.

Speaking at the 6th Annual General meeting of the Federation of West African chamber of Commerce and Industry (FEWAI) the President of the Regional Chamber, Mr. Essohouna Germaine Meba, said the business community should work together to ensure deepening of regional integration within ECOWAS member states.

During the meeting of the chamber which had its theme as “Private sector and Deepening Regional Integration in ECOWAS member stated”, Meba said the meeting would provide members the opportunity to discuss regional and continental economic integration.

At the event the National President of the Nigeria Association of Chambers of Commerce Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) Iyalode Alaba Lawson, was unanimously elected to head the Federation of West Africa Chambers of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture (FEWACCI).

She succeeded the president of Togo chamber of Commerce, Mr. Essohouna Germain Meba.
