Presidential polls: Buhari leads in Katsina

Results trickling in from across the local government areas in Katsina show President Muhammadu Buhari, of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in early lead, winning in six, out of the 34 local government areas so far declared by the INEC, as at yesterday evening.

In the results announced by the INEC Collation Officer, Prof. Fatima Mukhtar, in Daura, Buhari polled 37,348 votes against the 4,630 votes for Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) while in Matazu, APC polled 27,625 against APC’s 9,151 votes. The other results are, for Ingawa (APC 29,230, PDP 7,625), Kurfi (APC 25,074, PDP 9,175), Kurfi (APC 25,074, PDP 9,175), Rimi (APC 33,361, PDP 8,818), and Sandamu (APC 29,221, PDP 9,025).
