The chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubu hay formally declared open the National Collation Centre for the collation of the results of the presidential election held at the weekend.
However, Yakubu, after announcing the ground rules for the collation, at the International Conference Centre (ICC), Abuja, venue of the exercise, said it would commence in earnest.
He said this was because returns for the election were still being expected from the states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The INEC chairman had told journalists that the result for Ekiti State was ready. And that the returning officers were on his way to Abuja, with the result.
