Senator representing Plateau Central in the National Assembly, Diket Plang, has said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has the future in mind when designing his projects for the people of Nigeria.

Plang, who spoke to newsmen in Jos, said that the Tinubu administration sees tomorrow in today and is guided by this vision, exposing Nigerians to the reality that life is about the future and not the present.

He said, “I believe that the present administration has displayed will, dream and a focus to transform this country. The projects on the ground and the projects that have been inaugurated are futuristic in nature.

“The Lagos-Calabar Coastal highway at over N10 trillion is a great dream for Nigeria. The project he inaugurated for those of us in Abuja, particularly the new face Abuja is getting, is unprecedented.

The president, via the Minister for Federal Capital Territory, has transformed Abuja into a new phase in less than a year.

“I see an administration that sees tomorrow, today, and therefore they’ve taken giant steps, steps that to a weak mind look unrealistic. But for a dreamer man of courage, he sees the great yield this will do for our country.

“So for me, if all of us would be on the same page, particularly the legislature, the judiciary and the citizenry are well communicated. I believe that this leadership will give birth to a Nigeria of great economy. I see projects in place that at the end of the day will improve the economy of this country.

“I see Nigerians exposed to realities of life. That’s why the fuel subsidy is removed so that we face reality. And then the exponential benefits of the reduction or the removal of oil subsidies would be channelled back to reduce the social hardship on Nigerians.

“And also some will be channelled towards employment, towards security, towards economic yielding projects like what this government is doing in the area of gas. You hear them inaugurating various gas plants for our country.

You also hear about the rail, the possibility of bringing rail services in the Federal Capital Territory by this government and also the road networks, over 300 roads rehabilitation and consortiums going in the country.

“We also see the minister paying compensation and trying to open up Nigeria in terms of goods. These are unprecedented. You look at the complete will of this government to bring in student loans and open up legislation that will attract more money, more funds to give sufficient amounts of money as loans to students and that the repayment would be when the student has gotten a job and after five years the student is unable to get a job the loan may be cancelled.”

Plang urged Nigerians to be patient and support the reform agenda of the government.
