Presidency keeps mum over NASS threat

BUHARI – MEDICAL EXPENSES

The Presidency says it has no comment on the threat by the National Assembly to evoke its constitutional powers against President Muhammmadu Buhari.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, declined to comment on the issue while fielding questions from State House Correspondents after the Federal Executive Council meeting presided by the president.

Asked what was the Presidency’s comment on the threat, Shehu said: “No, nothing.”

Both chambers of the National Assey had, at a joint session on Tuesday, asked the president to buckle up or risk impeachment.

They had threatened to invoke their constitutional powers should Buhari fail to act on resolutions which included a call on security agencies to redouble their efforts to contain the killings across Nigerians and protect citizens’ lives and property.
