Manchester United manager, Erik Ten Hag, has stated that this new season will be a “survival of the fittest”.

Last season, the Red Devils finished outside the top four, but they won the FA Cup by defeating Manchester City.

Ten Hag has already signed Lenny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee to their roster.

Both players will face Arsenal in a pre-season friendly early Sunday morning.

“We know that because [when] we have injuries, we are vulnerable, and we have to avoid this. First, by getting less injuries and picking up less injuries. And second, our squad has to be that good in depth.

“Of course, the quality we have, but in the depth we have to catch up. And even more, because this will be a season that is survival of the fittest.

“We proved we can beat the best team. Not just once, we did it twice. But also the other games were also very close.

“Our challenge is to do it consistently, that’s what we have to work for,” Ten Hag told reporters at his pre-match news conference.
