The President of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) worldwide, Pastor Samuel Oladele has charged Christians in the country to pray for those in positions of authority.
Also, the cleric admonished non-Christians in the country to pray for the leaders occupying various political positions.
Oladele, who admitted that there were hardships and challenges in the country, stressed the need for all and sundry to pray for the good of the country at all times.
The cleric, who spoke at this year’s pastors’ conference of the church at the Babalola international prayer camp along Ilesa-Akure Express Road urged Nigerians to endure as sufferings would soon end in the country.
He said: “We know there is hardship in the country. We know the times are terrible but we have the obligation to pray for our leaders. We need to pray for God’s intervention in the country.
“It’s not easy to lead. It’s not easy to rule. It’s difficult to govern a nation but as a church, we have the responsibility to ensure that we pray for our leaders and those in positions of authority.
“It’s important for Nigerians to endure at a time like this. It’s very sure that we will all laugh at the end of the day. The hardship and difficulties are temporary sacrifices that we need to pay as a people,” he added.
Speaking on the theme of the conference, “Bible, God’s message to man,” Pastor Oladele said the word of the Lord as contained in the bible remains the only solution to the problems confronting the world.
He encouraged Nigerian leaders to make use of the words of God in the discharge of their responsibilities, stressing that “the bible is the only solution to the problem of the world. The word of God is above all situations and circumstances.”
