General Supervisor of ThankGod Awaited Liberation Ministry, Ogba, Lagos, Prophet Francis Otukwu, has said military take-over of power in Niger Republic was meant to teach former president, Muhammadu Buhari, a lesson to the effect that no matter how powerful and oppressive a leader may be, God remains the final arbiter in the affairs of mankind.
The cleric recalled how Buhari, after running a parochial regime with no regard for equity, rule of law and human rights had boasted that if Nigerians disturbed him, he would relocate to Niger Republic for his retirement, after destroying the peace and livelihood of millions of his countrymen and women.
“That is why God went ahead of him to ensure that he either returns home after his holidays abroad to be part of his successor’s economic theatrics or remain in self-imposed exile abroad as the dream of moving over for unperturbed rest in Niger Republic no longer realistic.”
The cleric who stated this at the sidelines of the ministry’s 17th anniversary/founder’s birthday thanksgiving service, therefore, cautioned the ECOWAS under President Bola Tinubu’s leadership to listen to voices of reason and follow peaceful and diplomatic means in dealing with the military regime in Niamey to avoid creating unnecessary hardship for our northern brothers in particular, and possible humiliation for Nigeria in the case of an arms conflict as being threatened.
