The Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, has kicked off a statewide campaign in Oyo State to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The campaign opened with separate strategic engagements involving party leaders, executives, and community stakeholders from the Ibadan South-East and Ibadan North Local Government Areas.
Making a strong case for the President’s re-election, Tegbe stated that the administration’s bold power sector reforms are already yielding modest improvements and positively impacting citizens’ lives.
He urged APC members in Oyo State to close ranks and ensure victory for President Tinubu and all party candidates.
“We will spare no effort to ensure that President Bola Tinubu gets re-elected in 2027, and we are not going to stop at that, as all the candidates of our great party will get our full backing,” he said.
Outlining federal interventions in Oyo State, particularly within the power sector, Tegbe highlighted plans to construct solar mini-grids across various locations in the state.

He added that ongoing electrification projects in Ogbomoso, Oke-Ogun, and Ibarapa are nearing completion.
According to the minister, these projects will permanently resolve years of epileptic power supply in the affected regions and he expressed confidence that chronic darkness in those parts of the state will soon become a thing of the past.
Also speaking at the meeting, the Oyo State APC governorship candidate, Barrister Sharafadeen Alli, endorsed the minister’s leadership capacity and urged party faithful to support him with prayers.
Other prominent party leaders present also expressed strong confidence in Tegbe’s capacity to deliver on his national mandate and meet the expectations of Nigerians.
