The Postmaster General of the Federation/CEO, Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST), Ms. Tola Odeyemi has remarked that the postal service is a powerful catalyst for economic and social development, opening new avenues and efficiencies for businesses and individuals alike.
Odeyemi made the statement during the NIPOST Special Day at the 35th Lagos International Trade Fair with the theme “Connecting Businesses, Creating Value.”
The PMG, who was represented by the State Postal Manager, Lagos Island, Barrister Emmanuel Ajaero, noted that
NIPOST under her watch will continue to evolve, offer innovative solutions, meet customers changing needs in a modern age and build an organisation that can stand the test of time.
The NIPOST CEO, who noted that the theme of the trade fair was apt, added that the service places a high value on connecting businesses.
She said the postal service plays a key role in connecting businesses and creating value in today’s digital world and for that, they leveraged modern technologies to ease their operation. She pointed out that the service also offers customers reliable and cost-effective means of transmitting essential documents, goods, e-commence items, mail, and other business-related materials.
“Today, in the digital age, customers have the privilege of ordering items from anywhere in the world, right from the comfort of their homes or offices, and having these items delivered to their preferred destinations using our postal system. The postal service is, therefore, a powerful catalyst for economic and social development, opening new avenues and efficiencies for businesses and individuals alike.
“Our commitment to evolving and adapting is evident in the range of services we offer, including Address verification, the Digital Postcode system, Mail delivery, and significantly, financial services. These services are integral components of our transformation journey as we strive to meet the ever-evolving needs of the public and align ourselves with the demands of a rapidly changing world.
“As we collectively embark on this journey to continue to be the leading postal agency globally, it is through innovative solutions, strategic partnerships, and the dedication of our human capital that we will redefine the Nigerian Postal Service for the modern age. Together, we will build a NIPOST that Nigerians can trust-a NIPOST that connects Nigerians irrespective of what they do.”
