Authorities of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka, have sent personal disqualification messages to candidates who sat the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for alleged examination malpractice.
The messages, which were received by some candidates who applied for the 2026/2027 admission exercise, were sent by the university’s Admissions Office to individual candidates.
The message reads:
“Following further review of your post-UTME online screening, it is hereby confirmed that you were properly disqualified for examination malpractice.

“For the avoidance of doubt, any flouting of our exam guidelines constitutes examination malpractice. These findings have been determined based on the deployment of multi-layered surveillance tools, including physical proctors and technology resources/mapping during the screening test, any of which act suffices to lead to disqualification.”
Head of the Communication Unit, UNILAG, Ajoke Alaga-Ibrahim, did not respond to Daily Sun‘s enquiry regarding the personal messages sent to individual candidates who sat the online post-UTME test.
