Portugal defender, João Cancelo has named his country among top favourites to win the 2026 World Cup.
The 31-year-old Barcelona defender made the prediction in an interview with TNT Sports Mexico after Portugal’s 0-0 friendly draw with Mexico on Sunday.
The Euro 2016 champions boast of top players including five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes, Rafael Leão, Rúben Dias, among others.

“We should be among top favourites to win the World Cup 2026 with quality of players we have.
“Cristiano Ronaldo as well? Of course, yes,” he said.
Portugal face World Cup co-hosts United States of America in their next friendly on Wednesday.
