Popular media personality and top member of the Association of Broadcasters, ANBROAD, Ayodele Samuel Oloye is bereaved. The experienced presenter fondly called ‘Baba Alayo Alayamalale’ has lost his beloved mother, Madam Abigiri Abiona Oloye. The deceased, a Cocoa merchant and community leader, died at the ripe age of 95 in his sleep at her residence in Ora-Eyinogbe, Owo, Ondo State.
Oloye, while describing his mother as the best mother in the world, he noted that she made him what he is today through the help of God and her struggles, since his father and her husband died when he was just 18 days old. “She stood by me at all phases of life,” Oloye said of his late mother. As a community leader and politician, Mama Abiona actively participated in politics during the days of Action Group in Owo. This must have been responsible for the raft of condolence messages from different personalities sent to the seasoned broadcaster son of the deceased. A statement from the family revealed that Mama Abiona’s burial will take place on Thursday August 24 and Friday August 25 at Owo. She was survived by children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
