Polls: Lugbe voters stranded, lament late arrival of INEC officials

lugbe-2

As of 11:50am on Election Day, officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were yet to arrive at the New Lugbe Market (market square) Unit 10, in Lugbe FCT, Abuja.

Also, other polling units in the cadastral zone, such the King of Kings Academy unit in Kabusa Ward, experienced similar delay as the accreditation process got underway much later than expected as a result of the late arrival of INEC personnel and election supplies.

Voters who were delayed at these sites sought shelter under trees and market stalls and bemoaned the election officers’ late arrival, as many had been waiting since 8am.
