Politics not a career, get a job – Davido fires back at Faleke

The war of words between Afrobeats star, Davido and Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. James Faleke continued on Sunday afternoon as the singer charged the veteran politician to quit politics and “get a job”.

Daily Sun earlier reported that the duo traded words on X over Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State won by the singer’s uncle, Senator Ademola Adeleke.

Adeleke of Accord Party secured 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who got 444,815 votes.

The feud started after Davido accused Faleke, an APC chieftain, of pressuring the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to alter the election results.

Faleke represents Ikeja Federal Constituency of Lagos State, which is home to President Bola Tinubu’s polling unit, and is a close ally of the president.

The federal lawmaker rejected the singer’s claim of mounting pressure on INEC over the Osun poll.

He also advised the Grammy-nominated artiste to face his music and leave politics for politicians.

“I came to Osun to support my party’s candidate, while you supported your uncle’s party (Accord). INEC is a body that can’t be influenced by me or anyone else.

“I have never influenced or rigged before and i don’t plan to start now. Face your music while we face our politics,” Faleke said.

Responding, Davido advised the former Kogi deputy governorship candidate to leave politics.

He said, “POLITICS is NOT A CAREER. Get a JOB!!!”
