The Abia State Police Command said it has uncovered a criminal hideout used for keeping stolen vehicles in Isuochi area of the state and recovered two vehicles.
In a Saturday statement, the command said operatives of the Isuochi Divisional Police Headquarters, acting on credible and actionable intelligence, raided the hideout on Friday, September 25.
The recovered vehicles are one white Dodge vehicle with Reg. No: Lagos APP-909KF and one red Toyota Camry with Reg. No: ENU-43AZ.
The command said the vehicles are currently in safe custody.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Maureen Chinaka, the operation is in line with the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Wilfred Olutokunbo Afolabi, on sustained intelligence-led operations across the command.
She said investigation is ongoing with intensified efforts to apprehend members of the vehicle theft syndicate connected to the hideout.
The command advised members of the public whose vehicles may have been stolen and fit the description to come to the Police Headquarters in Umuahia with valid proof of ownership for identification and reclaim.
